Nasopharyngeal carcinoma Information

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor that occurs in the nasopharynx or upper throat. It is more common in southern China. Genetic factor is currently considered the main cause. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is mainly classified into keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma, non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma and undifferentiated carcinoma at the microscopic level. Moreover, early-stage nasopharyngeal tumors are generally hidden beneath the mucous membrane of nasopharynx and thus difficult to detect.
